      克漏字測驗不管是在小考、定期考或學測、指考中,一直是許多學生最難克服的題型,這是因為克漏字測驗是一種綜合測驗,不但檢測學生對單字的意思與用法是否確實了解,也測驗學生是否會運用各種文法規則,甚至考驗學生對整篇文章的承轉與理解是否準確,學生不但要掌握文章細節也需抓住大方向。
      本書編寫的目的就是希望幫助學生學習能同時兼顧字句的用法與段落的主旨,期望透過確實的練習,不僅能熟習解題技巧和應答策略,更能厚植自己的英語實力。在編排上以各類主題為主軸,內容包羅萬象,有自然生物、歷史文明、人物介紹、醫療保健、科技新知、生活型態、人文藝術等主題共三十個單元。每個單元皆有兩短篇與一長篇的克漏字練習,接著每個單元還有兩個常用句型的講解與三組針對該篇句型所提供的連貫式翻譯練習,期望學生透過充份及反覆的練習,強化各種技巧,提昇測驗的速度與能力。
      本書在使用上,每個單元的分量大約為一堂(五十分鐘)課的時間,老師可彈性視上課時間於一學期(大約每周兩個單元)或一學年(大約每周一個單元)中完成所有範圍。若課堂時間有限,亦可當回家作業練習,因此,本書最後附上每篇文章的全文翻譯,同時克漏字與翻譯練習的每道題目都附上詳解,一一說明解題的邏輯分析過程,方便學生自修使用。
      本書編寫力求完善,但難免有疏漏之處,希望讀者與各界賢達隨時賜教。
