While the Marxist idea of "permanent revolution" is most closely associated with Leon Trotsky, other Marxists provided important contributions to the idea, even some such as N. Ryazanov, who has rarely been mentioned in connection with the idea, and Karl Kautsky, who has often been regarded as a pseudo-revolutionary committed to parliamentary politics. So Day (political economy, U. of Toronto, Canada) and Gaido (National Research Council, Argentina) discovered as they put together this anthology demonstrating the elaboration of the concept of permanent revolution in the years 1903-7.
