《西部考古》(第17輯)是在西北大學"211工程"經費資助下，西北大學文化遺產研究與保護技術教育部重點實驗室、西北大學絲綢之路文化遺產保護與考古學研究中心、邊疆考古與中國文化認同協同創新中心和西北大學唐仲英文化遺產研究與保護技術實驗室聯合編著的學術年刊，收錄考古調查、發掘報告及研究論文等共計25篇，以中國西部地區為立足點，面向全國，內容涉及考古學、文物學、文化遺產管理與保護規劃、環境與歷史地理等多個方面。
