"A Bug Travels Far" is a funny, sassy adventure, filled with memorable characters, incredible illustrations and clever twists and turns. The series is packed with Easter eggs, throughout. Growing up in the 70's and 80's, kids did not have books that represented characters struggling with gender identity. As a debut author, Doreen strives to add more LGBTQ+ youth characters into children's literature, as the core mission of this project. This is a great series for LGBTQ+ kids, their families, siblings, extended families, and friends. It is an equally an important series for parents of non-LGBTQ+ kids, schools, libraries, and bookstores to carry and share to bring awareness about accepting and embracing differences in others.
