商品簡介
This study finds that competition between airports in Europe exists in several regions and asks whether the competition is strong enough to limit market power, drawing on case studies from Greece, Germany, and the UK. An overview of the state of competition explores whether the current form of competition can increase efficiency and economic welfare. A section on traveler choice and airport competition looks at factors such as time and travel costs. Some policy issues analyzed include airport alliances and multi-airport companies, low-cost carriers, policy implications of mergers and subsidies, and market dominance and abuse.
