Technology and Young Children

Intended for educators and education training professionals, this collection of twelve articles on educational technology showcases current research into the growing technology gap between educators rooted in traditional classroom methodologies and generations of children adapted to more diverse technological avenues for learning. The volume is divided into sections covering the roots of the digital generation gap, technology-based education and child development, bridging the gap between pedagogy and technology and policy and practice, and chapters address topics in classroom technology, teacher education and subject specific uses for computer technologies. Individual papers include abstracts, illustrations, tables and bibliographies and a volume wide compilation of reading resources is provided.
