商品簡介

作者簡介

Twenty-three contributions address the many religious, social, and cultural features of the diverse South Asian diaspora. Case studies explore and analyze the lives of those in the diaspora who practice Jainism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, and Zoroastrianism, particularly those from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The first five sections are organized by religious tradition; the remaining section focuses on key issues in South Asian communities including identity definition among members of the Indian diaspora in South Africa; the role of the baba in the Punjabs of the South Asian diaspora; and religious discrimination against Hindus and Sikhs in England and Wales.
