商品簡介

作者簡介

The underlying theme of this book is that the new codes of counter-terrorism have challenged traditional legal concepts. International contributors in law, criminal justice, and criminology analyze unintended outcomes of counter-terrorism within common law, civil law, and international legal systems, relating the findings from several jurisdictions, especially Spain and other Continental European jurisdictions. Part 1 addresses the broader themes that frame legal counter-terrorism, while Part 2 considers the ways in which concepts and threats of terrorism have impacted established boundaries in criminal law, in areas such as terrorism as a criminal offense. Part 3 looks at crossing legal boundaries in criminal justice systems, in areas such as distinctions between anti-terrorist and criminal justice measures in Ireland. The last section examines crossing legal boundaries in counter-terrorism organizations, with chapters on cross-border law enforcement in counter-terrorism and maintaining human rights in transnational policing.
