Japanese philosopher Tomonobu Imamichi (1922-2012) coined the term eco-ethica to name the ethics of the human world newly enlarged by technology and culture, and the annual journal publishes papers from his Institute's symposia and other papers. The theme of this volume is ethics and justice, and most of the essays are revised papers from the October 2016 symposium in Istanbul. As usual, the final third is devoted to French philosopher Paul Ric?ur (1913-2005), here to his ethics and justice. Other topics include lost without words: the justice that surpasses blind justice; from the moral to the political: the question of political legitimacy in non-Western societies; justice in the prophetic tradition; and the lack of a concept of justice in Japan: how to recognize the balance between opposite views.
