Home Birth tells ten women's stories, focusing on the ways in which the women were helped or hindered, supported or deterred during their journey towards a home birth. It will describe the actual births through the eyes of the women, and the first few hours afterwards. Providing an understanding of how best to meet women's physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs in childbirth, the text examines how women Perceive and experience professional concerns relating to the safety of home birth in particular circumstances, such as following caesarean section; when the mother is a teenager or over 40; or when she has a pre-existing medical condition.
作者簡介
Mary L. Nolan is Professor of Perinatal Education at the University of Worcester, UK. She is also Senior Tutor at the National Childbirth Trust.
