Marvin A. McMickle, MDiv, PhD, is pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where he has served since 1987. In 2006 he was given the Ralph Garfield Schell Presidential Award for Excellence in Ministry. In addition to being one of the most respected preachers in the nation, Dr. McMickle serves as professor of homiletics at Ashland Theological Seminary.A prolific author, McMickle has published seven books, including the Judson Press titles The Star Book on Preaching (2006), Battling Prostate Cancer (2004), Before We Say I Do (2003), and An Encyclopedia of African American Christian Heritage (2002). He is also the author of Where Have All the Prophets Gone? Reclaiming Prophetic Preaching in America (Pilgrim Press 2006).
