Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Chairman of the Islamic Foundation, U.K. and the Institute of Policy Studies, Islamabad, Pakistan, holds a Masters in Economics and Islamic Studies, a first degree in Law, an honourary doctorate in Education from the University of Malaysia and an honourary D. Litt. from the University of Loughborough, U.K. He has taught at the University of Karachi (1980-94) and the International Institute of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University, Islamabad (1983-87), and served as Federal Minister for Planning and Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Pakistan (1978-79), as a member of the Senate of Pakistan (1985-97) and as Chairman, Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Economy (1992-97, 2003-). Prof. Khurshid received the prestigious King Faisal Award for Service to Islam, 1990, the Islamic Development Bank Award for his contribution to Islamic Economics, 1989, and the Islamic Finance Award sponsored by the Islamic Finance House, U.S.A., 1998.

Khurshid Ahmad is the author of many books. He is a politician and one of the pioneers of Islamic Economics. He has given seminars and Lectures all over the world and is based in Islamabad-Pakistan, where he is chairman of the Institute of Policy Studies as well as a Senator.
