This volume arises from an international workshop held at the University College London, UK (date not stated), funded by the Centre for East European Language Based Area Studies. Eight contributions are arranged in sections on fostering cosmopolitanism, diasporas from former Yugoslavia, diaspora in and beyond Germany, and ethical challenges in research on migration. A more specific sampling of topics: Armenian-American engagement with their homeland, diaspora impact on European Community policy-making, migration memoirs and narratives of Polish migrants in Berlin.
