商品簡介
By 1939 Mao Zedong was a leader in the Chinese Communist Party through his political acumen, his organizing energy, and his executive ability. At the same time, his abilities to shift register, to maintain a sense of the whole and also of the particular, and to absorb seemingly contradictory realities in the social, political and military arenas helped him rise to the top in about three years, while China was invaded by Japan. In this collection of Mao's writings and letters, he is concerned about the invasions and the reactions by the international community, cooperation and conflict with the Guomindang, military resistance and expansion, and leadership and party building. The writings are arranged chronologically and include his brief sayings and inscriptions. Nearly all are about his public life, and there is no indication he could foresee his eventual status amongst the Chinese and in the world.
