Power Efficiency in Broadband Wireless Communications

The main aim of this book is to study OFDM systems and discuss the advantages and disadvantages compared to alternative multiplexing techniques. Secondly, it discusses how to overcome the main drawbacks of implementing an actual OFDM system. It introduces a cost-effective technique to increase the power efficiency and reduce the system cost and prolong battery life in mobile devices. This book addresses one of the main challenges in recent mobile technology and will be useful for all engineers who want to design and implement a part of advance technology.

Pooria Varahram received his B.Sc. in electrical and electronics engineering from Khajenasir University of Technology in 2002, his M.Sc. in telecommunications engineering from Tarbiat Modares University in 2004 and Ph.D. in wireless communication engineering from the University Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2010. He has more than 5 years of experience in designing and developing a range of electronic and telecommunication related projects. He has completed his Post PhD in UPM. His research interests are PAPR reduction in OFDM systems, Linearization of power amplifiers, and microwave power amplifier design.
