Literature, Integration and Harmony in Northern Nigeria

Seeking to combat societal ills confronting the northern part of Nigeria, scholars of language and literature organized two conferences at Kwara State University in 2015 and 2016, which generated the 19 papers here. Among their topics are dramatic theater: a nexus for resurgence in 21st-century northern Nigeria, Sunnie Ododo's Broken Pitchers and the (im)possibilities of national resurgence, religious interpretations and their implications for society in Abubakar Gimba's Sacred Apples and Elnathan John's Born on a Tuesday, rethinking the woman in northern Nigerian literature, and language and cultural values: the African socio-perception to greetings.
