Eighteen-year-old Holiday needs a a change. She's still shaken from her brother's recent suicide attempt, still pining over her ex, and still struggling to write again after an incident with a former mentor. To earn enough money for a life-rebalancing trip, Holi starts working for acclaimed local author Elsie McAllister, whose fame rests on a single novel published decades ago. It's an unglamorous gig: sorting through the elderly legend's attic and cataloging mementos, while Elsie refuses to provide writing advice aside from "Don't do it." But Elsie's attic contains secrets that change Holi's views on art, life, and the way they intertwine, causing her to rethink her own path.
