本書特色▌藉由收集不同面向的教學模式成果數據，並進行統整及數據研究分析的校務研究專書序▌序／國立臺灣師範大學　邱皓政 校務研究（institutional research）在西方高等教育體系起源甚早且發展成熟，是美國主流大學治理與校務決策的重要功能與部門，在臺灣的部分大學或許早有類似的業務或單位，但直到近年才獲得普遍重視，主要助力在於教育部於2015年所推動的「大學提升校務專業管理能力計畫」，補助26所大專院校發展校務研究工作，延聘專業人員，設置專責機構，並促成「臺灣校務研究專業發展協會」於2016年1月成立，在首任理事長黃榮村教授（前教育部長、現為考試院院長）的帶領下，團結各校力量、組織發展迅速，除了掌握各方資源、發展國際連結，更積極辦理學術研討與研習、支援專業活動，而本書之出版，正是豐碩成果的具體展現。 基本上，校務研究的核心是校務「資料」，而資料是否能夠成為有意義的資訊，提供決策參考，有賴於正確有效的分析。本書所收錄的各篇研究報告，正說明了校務資料透過分析策略所能展現出來的意義與價值。從各文所使用的資料可以得知，校務研究資料的取材皆為各校辦學狀況或學生學習狀態，例如以問卷調查探討學生不同面向的學習滿意度；透過UCAN平台資料分析學生職能發展概況與課程改善重點；英語授課者必須語言與教學能力兼備才能讓教學成效更好等等，雖然研究者的出發點是在各校的校務治理與辦學狀況本身，正因為研究者均具備相當程度的學術背景與研究方法訓練，各研究均採行符合學術研究規範之研究策略，雖然資料型態互異、研究方法不同、統計分析深淺有別，但研究發現除了反映各校的特定背景與研究主題的不同焦點所在，也可以類化推論到有相同脈絡與條件下的校園情境或應用議題，例如多元學習策略對於學習效能有正向的影響；入學方式與高中表現對於大學生的學習表現具有顯著預測力；助學計畫與資源的投入對於經濟與文化不利的學生確實有所助益等等。 本人雖長年投入量化研究與統計方法的研教與專書撰述工作，但也曾經參與大學教務、總務、推廣教育、院系務與校務研究辦公室主管等行政職務，深知校務行政工作的紛雜與挑戰。從校務治理的角度來看，校務研究的目的是在為行政服務而非學術，「研究」的價值與功能在於掌握校園樣態、提供決策參考與實務應用的建議，本書當中的各篇研究不約而同的採行學術論文的典範與程序，除了是研究者個人的訓練與研究需要上的選擇，更
