Interference Cancellation Using Space-Time Processing and Precoding Design

Originally written over a period from about 1979 to the early 1980s, the first in the trilogy was inspired by the theatre of the absurd and focused on the nature of human relationships across the fabric of space-time. The second, written in the late 1980s and the following early 1990s, was focused on repercussions of events across space-time; and then the third, written in 2000 and after, more or less concludes the trilogy with elements of the preceding two interwoven and coming to grips with the vicissitudes of life.

As a co-founder of the PRC’s first unofficial literary journal Jintian (Today) in 1978, Mang Ke was born in 1950. He began writing poetry as a sent-down youth in Baiyangdian, rural Hebei province, during the Cultural Revolution. Historical memory has a particular value in analyzing events and characters that give life to stories from the past. This study tests the factors of transaction costs (TC) and resource-based views (RBV) to explain the MNEs’ entry decisions in China. By using large firm-level data from China, I show in this paper that variables related to internal uncertainty (e.g., management) and firm-specific assets tend to affect MNEs’ entry decisions in a way that is consistent with the transaction cost logic; that is, the higher degree of internal uncertainty, the MNEs may require more control over the foreign facilities or the JV. On the other hand, those variables related to external uncertainty (e.g., marketing) and intangible assets tend to conform to the resource-based view, which means higher external uncertainty would cause the MNEs to leverage the resources or local experience of local partners. This suggests that MNEs may need complementary resources from local partners to reduce the external uncertainty and enhance the value of their intangible resources.

This study attempts to analyze systematically the rationale, evolution, and consequences of Chiang Kai-shek's "unity before resistance" doctrine, which was the basis of Nanking's appeasement policy. The author argues that there were a number of independent variables that influenced Nanking's attitude toward Japan: 1) the internal disintegration of China; 2) factional conflicts within the Kuomintang; 3) ineffective administration; 4) the vicissitudes of nationalism; 5) the material backwardness of China; and 6) international mediation. Collected and Curated introduces Chinese art and material culture through the items from the permanent collection of The University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG), The University of Hong Kong. As the oldest continuously operating museum in Hong Kong, UMAG serves as a significant venue for contemporary art exhibitions, and excels at collecting, documenting and teaching about local and regional artists and art forms, while fostering ongoing and new relationships. Regarded as an essential teaching resource, UMAG has expanded its collection and programming through generous donations from patrons and artists, along with support from the University of Hong Kong and the HKU Museum Society. Since 1953, curators and educators have leveraged this assistance to expand, display and teach with a collection that highlights artefacts ranging from Neolithic cultures (ca. 6500 BCE–ca. 1900 BCE) to the early kingdoms and dynasties of imperial China (ca. 1500 BCE–1911). 作者在二千年代後期開始寫詩，至今寫的都是中國古詩體五七言絕律詩。這種體裁的特色是每首詩的詩句數量是四或四的倍數，一首詩可以是句句押韻或者好些詩句押韻，而每行詩句則固定由五個字或七個字組成。最大原因讓筆者堅持這種格式的是它的工整規格：是個局限，也是個挑戰；自從寫成了頭一、兩首以後，就有了往績來抱持「早晚完成這一首」的心態來寫接下來的每一首：當中那保證的多巴胺，在過程中燃燒澎湃的寫作動力，在峻工時回饋莫大的獎賞。 作者的詩作，秉持某些原則：國、粤語押韻，用字能與當代讀者溝通，而且要有相片來強化意境。早期的詩作語調較為晦暗，不少在訴說著人生的無奈；後來受到劉西傳道的提點才「提高」了作品的「亮度」，多了一點光明。 這一本詩集由四大元素所組成： 一、詩：中文的詩固然是最基要的部分，而這些詩的英文版卻是中文版的轉換(並非直白的翻譯)；每一句仍然保留中文版的主要意思，但詞類的舖陳卻是重新處理，好使押韻(讓我們保留這份樂趣吧！)。(這好比一齣電影，原本製作自某城或某國，後來給翻拍成另外一個地方的版本，兩個版本的細節不盡一樣，但故事和劇情大致相同。) 二、相片：本書所採用的相片，全為筆者生活的影像記錄，親自攝影，不假外求；用在書中的，部分給作出了裁切，全部没有後期加工。 三、短文：筆者以一、兩句說話來延伸或加強每首詩的重點。 四、《聖經》的經文：撤除宗教背景，《聖經》一直被視為至高的經典。(坊間不少書籍以《-- -- 聖經》來命名以表示該著作在其知識領域上的權威。)對於基督徒來說(包括筆者)，《聖經》是一本生活指南，是叫人活得更豐盛的一本著作。有見及此，筆者從《聖經》中引用一至兩句經文來回應每首詩的主旨，也希望帶來啟發。 以上的四項結集而成的這書，希望能為您在生活裏多開一扇窗，為您在路途上再添一點光。
