This collection of essays represents current trends in skeletal biology research in Greece. The time frame for the papers includes the first-known populations of the Middle Pleistocene, those of the Mesolithic and Neolithic eras, the Bronze Age, and largely neglected periods such as the Byzantine and post-Bysantine. Topics include: bioarchaeological approaches to Aegean archaeology, skeletal evidence for militarism in Mycenaean Athens, regional differences in the health of Mycenaean women of East Lokris, and isotope paleodietary analysis of humans and fauna from the Bronze Age site of Voudeni. The collection contains writings from 35 contributors in addition to editors Schepartz (anthropology, Florida State U.), Fox (director, Weiner Laboratory), and Bourbou (bioarchaeologist, 28th Ephoreia of Byzantine Antiquities).
