Eventually English would become the primary medium of instruction soon after the introduction of nine-year universal education in 1978. The papers in this publication are studies on the Chinese communicity in Malaysia in relation to developments in Southeast Asia. The formation of Chinese communities in the region were established by waves of migration into the region over periods of time. In fact the Xinhua News Agency from the People's Republic of China reported recently, with pride, that there are now an estimated forty five million Overseas Chinese all over the world. The ultimate goal of this thesis is to construct an optimal global portfolio with ETFs. We choose the iShares MSCI country index ETFs as our assets. We start with the calculation of correlation between these countries. We find out that there is potential benefit undertaking international diversification. While comparing with the former research, the potential benefit is smaller. We examine the effect of investing internationally of each country. And we can see that not all countries are benefit from international diversification. While considering international diversification, investors have to look at the characteristic of the domestic country to make decision. In the international level, we can see that the investment risk would decrease and the return would increase. And the marginal effect decreases. In our test, the return, risk and efficiency come stable after adding the 14th asset into the global portfolio. Therefore we construct our global portfolio with 13 assets. We can see

The purpose of this book is to explain both the historical context and current practices of land administration in Hong Kong. Although Hong Kong has an open and business-friendly environment, it is underpinned by a socialist leasehold land tenure system. In the early 20th century, Chinese elite organized and operated a number of Chinese Public Dispensaries in Hong Kong and Kowloon, initially to reduce the prevalence of “dump bodies” on the streets during epidemics of smallpox or plague, and to determine the cause of death of these bodies. Later other services including domiciliary deliveries by trained midwives were added. The government founded similar clinics in the New Territories. After WWII, the government took over all the Chinese Public Dispensaries and operated them as general outpatient clinics. Over the years, more general clinics and special clinics were developed.
