Peak Power Control in Multicarrier Communications
滿額折
出版日:2012/09/13 作者:Simon Litsyn  出版社:Cambridge Univ Pr  裝訂:平裝
Peak signal power is an important factor in the implementation of multicarrier (MC) modulation schemes, like OFDM, in wireless and wireline communication systems. This 2007 book describes tools necessary for analyzing and controlling the peak-to-average power ratio in MC systems, and how these techniques are applied in practical designs. The author starts with an overview of multicarrier signals and basic tools and algorithms, before discussing properties of MC signals in detail: discrete and continuous maxima; statistical distribution of peak power; codes with constant peak-to-average power ratio are all covered, concluding with methods to decrease peak power in MC systems. Current knowledge, problems, methods and definitions are summarized using rigorous mathematics, with an overview of the tools for the engineer. The book is aimed at graduate students and researchers in electrical engineering, computer science and applied mathematics, and practitioners in the telecommunications indu

Using easy-to-follow mathematics, this textbook provides comprehensive coverage of block codes and techniques for reliable communications and data storage. It covers major code designs and constructions from geometric, algebraic, and graph-theoretic points of view, decoding algorithms, error control additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and erasure, and dataless recovery. It simplifies a highly mathematical subject to a level that can be understood and applied with a minimum background in mathematics, provides step-by-step explanation of all covered topics, both fundamental and advanced, and includes plenty of practical illustrative examples to assist understanding. Numerous homework problems are included to strengthen student comprehension of new and abstract concepts, and a solutions manual is available online for instructors. Modern developments, including polar codes, are also covered. An essential textbook for senior undergraduates and graduates taking introductory coding courses,

Computational aeroacoustics (CAA) is a relatively new research area. CAA algorithms have developed rapidly and the methods have been applied in many areas of aeroacoustics. The objective of CAA is not simply to develop computational methods but also to use these methods to solve practical aeroacoustics problems and to perform numerical simulation of aeroacoustic phenomena. By analysing the simulation data, an investigator can determine noise generation mechanisms and sound propagation processes. This is both a textbook for graduate students and a reference for researchers in CAA and as such is self-contained. No prior knowledge of numerical methods for solving partial differential equations (PDEs) is needed, however, a general understanding of partial differential equations and basic numerical analysis is assumed. Exercises are included and are designed to be an integral part of the chapter content. In addition, sample computer programs are included to illustrate the implementation of

Transfer Learning
滿額折
出版日:2020/03/31 作者:Qiang Yang  出版社:Cambridge Univ Pr  裝訂:精裝
Transfer learning deals with how systems can quickly adapt themselves to new situations, tasks and environments. It gives machine learning systems the ability to leverage auxiliary data and models to help solve target problems when there is only a small amount of data available. This makes such systems more reliable and robust, keeping the machine learning model faced with unforeseeable changes from deviating too much from expected performance. At an enterprise level, transfer learning allows knowledge to be reused so experience gained once can be repeatedly applied to the real world. For example, a pre-trained model that takes account of user privacy can be downloaded and adapted at the edge of a computer network. This self-contained, comprehensive reference text describes the standard algorithms and demonstrates how these are used in different transfer learning paradigms. It offers a solid grounding for newcomers as well as new insights for seasoned researchers and developers.
