隨著全球暖化與淨零排放議題持續發酵，各國減碳意識持續升高，並於2021年舉行之「聯合國氣候變化綱要公約」第26屆締約方大會(COP26)中透過200個各國代表簽署格拉斯哥氣候協定，表達於2050年實現零碳排目標之決心；國際能源總署(IEA)亦提出「2050淨零碳排之技術路線圖」，從建築、運輸、工業與電力部門分別訂定減排路徑與各階段里程碑，同時分析各種減碳技術的發展對經濟、能源產業、全球自然資源開採、能源安全等不同面向之影響。為達淨零碳排目標，新及再生能源技術之研發與落實勢在必行，氫經濟亦成為國際顯學。氫能因其潔淨、供電穩定、來源多元等特性，在能源、工業及運輸等部門被視為極具未來性與優勢之解決方案，先進國家如歐、美、英、日、韓、澳等皆積極投入，為國際間視為邁向淨零碳排的關鍵技術之一。不僅前述IEA「2050淨零碳排之技術路線圖」中認定氫能為重點減碳技術，亦有數十個先進國家提出國家氫能發展路徑圖與戰略、短中長期目標，並透過各種政策與補貼帶動氫經濟成長，吸引各界爭相投入，加速國際能源轉型之進程。我國在推動淨零碳排方面亦不落人後，首於2021年提出淨零轉型政策目標，發布包含製造、運輸、住宅、農業等各部門減碳策略；2022年由國發會偕同各部會公布「台灣2050淨零排放路徑及策略總說明」，提出四大轉型、兩大治理基礎、12項關鍵戰略等方針，為能源、產業、民生等重要領域制定行動計畫，期我國能達成2050淨零轉型之目標；2023年將現行《溫管法》修正為《氣候變遷因應法》並經立法院三讀通過，強調溫室氣體減量與氣候變遷調適並重，提升氣候治理層級，展現我國推動淨零碳排之決心；2024年新政府提出「國家希望工程」的八大施政中，「綠色成長與2050淨零轉型」亦將氫能納為重點政策之一。與此同時，我國氫能與燃料電池產業發展已逾20年，從原材料，乃至關鍵零組件、系統應用、周邊產品等上中下游廠商皆備，過去更包含緊急備援電力、智慧社區、偏鄉、離島等小型示範驗證計畫累積經驗後，已初具產業及供應鏈；惟未來推動如大型氫能及能源整合應用、氫氣之製造、來源或供應、基礎設施之建置等，應挾全球推動淨零碳排之趨勢，盡速展開我國各項能源技術配比研析、推動我國大型氫能示範落地計畫以進行技術之研發與驗證、法規調適，除完善我國氫能產業發展外，亦可利用其成果落實我國淨零轉型戰略。鑒於我國目前氫能專題叢書鮮少，然各界正多方探詢氫能

Revitalization in Asia: Adaptive Reuse in Macao, Mumbai, and Penang offers a clear understanding of the value of sustainable adaptive reuse within an Asian context. Three highly urbanized places (Macao, Mumbai, and Penang) are considered in detail from conservation and planning perspectives (with essays and timelines for each). For each place, five case studies offer a comparative framework for understanding similarities and differences in adaptive reuse projects. Six essays examine adaptive reuse in terms of its connection to the three dimensions of sustainability, with reference to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. In an epic historical story that talks directly to our times, Cross and Dragon dramatizes the life of one of the most famous Western figures in China: Italian Jesuit Matteo Ricci. Sent by the Pope in the late 16th century to convert the Chinese Emperor, Ricci was faced with a “mission impossible” as China in the Ming Dynasty did not allow foreigners to enter the country. Initially, dressed like a Buddhist monk, he slipped into the country, where he impressed everyone he met with his secret weapons: remarkable memory techniques and the latest Western science. He stayed for 30 years. During this time, his journey took him from southern China and rural life to the mesmerizing city of Nanking and on to Peking, where he eventually had an office in the Forbidden City. Through his belief in cultural engagement rather than military confrontation, he opened new doors for East–West understanding.

This publication, and the accompanying exhibition, presents the vital contributions of two of Japan's most remarkable artists, Kurosaki Akira and Nakabayashi Tadayoshi, who participated in and influenced the twentieth-century renaissance of printmaking in Japan. This cultural phenomenon grew as the artists underwent rigorous training while maintaining a robust interest in traditional printing methods, such as the world-renowned woodblock technique. Coupled with their innovative experimentation, the two printers spearheaded a revival that expanded upon established printing techniques. The unusual juxtaposition of two contemporary artists emphasises both Kurosaki and Nakabayashi's masterpieces and their individual contributions to the ongoing development of Japanese printmaking. This book is the second in a two-volume monograph on the Zidanku Silk Manuscripts. Looted in 1942 from the Warring States-period Chu tomb at Zidanku, Changsha, the manuscripts date to the turn from the 4th to the 3rd centuries BCE and are the only pre-Imperial Chinese manuscripts on silk found to-date. The monograph represents the culmination of almost four decades of research by Professor Li Ling of Peking University. Volume One addresses the circumstances of the discovery of the Zidanku Silk Manuscripts and the subsequent provenance history in China and the United States. Volume Two provides the first complete transcription of the Zidanku Silk Manuscripts in their entirety together with reproductions of the original manuscripts. The transcription is accompanied by comprehensive annotations, with full paleographic and philological analysis of the texts. In Christianity and Education in Modern China, Wong Man Kong, George Kam Wah Mak, and other contributors demonstrate how Christianity served as a driving force in the development of modern education in China. Each of the chapters offers new insights into Christian involvement in different issues concerning education in modern China. The contributors examine how Christian missionaries and Chinese Christian educators interacted with China’s social, cultural, and political contexts. Also explored are the Christian legacies of higher education in mainland China and Taiwan, as well as how the spirit of Christian higher education in modern China has been carried on in Asia. In 1842, the Qing Empire signed a watershed commercial treaty with Great Britain, beginning a century-long period in which geopolitical and global economic entanglements intruded on Qing territory and governance. Previously understood as an era of “semi-colonialism,” Stacie A. Kent reframes this century of intervention by shedding light on the generative force of global capital. Based on extensive research conducted with British and Chinese government archives, Coercive Commerce shows how commercial treaties and the regulatory regime that grew out of them catalyzed a revised arts of governance in Qing-administered China.
