This volume is the first book-length monograph on the most widespread and deadly infectious disease in China, both historically and today: tuberculosis (TB). Weaving together interviews with data from periodicals and local archives in Shanghai, Rachel Core examines the rise and fall of TB control in China from the 1950s to the 1990s. The answer to this, Core argues, lies in the socialist work-unit system. Under the work-unit system, the vast majority of people had guaranteed employment, a host of benefits tied to their workplace, and there was little mobility—factors that made the delivery of medical and public health services possible in both urban and rural areas. The dismantling of work units amid wider market reforms in the 1980s and 1990s led to the rise of temporary and casual employment and a huge migrant worker population, with little access to health care, creating new challenges in TB control. Chinese Diaspora Charity and the Cantonese Pacific, 1850–1949 sheds new light on the history of charity among Chinese overseas and its place in the history of charity in China and in the wider history of global philanthropy. The Jews first arrived in China during the Tang dynasty (618-907 AD) and settled as businessmen, civil servants and professionals. Over a ten-year period, Professor Ma carried out cross-disciplinary research in Hong Kong focused on the effectiveness of structural family therapy for Chinese patients suffering from anorexia nervosa. She found that although the Chinese patients received the same diagnosis as their Western counterparts, their experiences throughout the stages of the disease differed significantly due to interpersonal contexts and subjective cultural factors. Time Exposures explores how historical photographs created by and of Chinese Catholic communities illuminate the vicissitudes of China’s transition from empire to modern nation. Relying on an expansive worldwide network of Catholic photographic archives, this book examines largely unseen and unpublished images related to Catholicism in China. These images, made from the 1870s through the 1990s, were central to visual practices and afterlives that represent, recover, and re-envision diverse Chinese experiences. 序 許慧明Hsu Hui-ming 淡水文化基金會董事長 Chairman of Tamsui Culture Foundation 以實際的行動 追思李魁賢 同心協力推展2025淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節 許慧明 我們敬愛的詩人李魁賢於今年1月15日辭世，享年87歲。 文化部為表彰李魁賢對台灣詩壇的影響與貢獻，特別呈請總統明令褒揚。文化部長李遠並在4月6日「李魁賢追思紀念會」上代表頒贈總統褒揚令，由李魁賢的公子李斯棐代表受贈。 總統在褒揚令上推崇李魁賢「綜其生平，見證台灣詩壇發展軌跡，豐富本土文學創作內涵，緒風雅望，奕世芳垂」，褒揚令尤其明確提及李魁賢「近年積極籌策國際詩歌節，構築互動賞析平台，開拓知性人文視野，沾溉啟迪，惠益原鄉」。 4月6日追思會後，文化部發布新聞稿闡明，「李魁賢一生獲獎無數，獲頒獎項包含國家文藝獎、行政院文化獎、巫永福評論獎、吳三連獎、賴和文學獎、義大利藝術大學文學獎傑出獎、美國愛因斯坦國際學術基金會和平銅牌獎、韓國亞洲詩人貢獻獎、印度國際詩人亞洲之星獎等多項殊榮。詩作被翻譯為日本、韓國、加拿大、紐西蘭、荷蘭、南斯拉夫、羅馬尼亞、印度、希臘、美國、西班牙等多國語言。2016年創辦淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節，持續推動迄今將邁入第10年，每年邀請國內外詩人，在淡水進行國際詩歌交流，讓台灣與世界詩壇接軌，提升台灣文學的國際能見度」。 財團法人淡水文化基金會有幸蒙李魁賢器重，自2016年開始即獲邀擔任「淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節」共同主辦單位兼執行單位，最能瞭解李魁賢在策辦「淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節」歷程的用心與付出，且在此略舉數例說明。 其一，李魁賢自2016年創辦淡水福爾摩莎國際詩歌節起即擔任總策劃，親自邀約國內外詩人來淡水參加詩歌節，李魁賢並獨創先例，請參加詩歌節的國內外詩人在會前提供詩作，由李魁賢親自編譯出版多語的《詩情海陸》詩集，在詩歌節大會期間給國內外詩人人手一冊，以便相互交流；詩歌節大會活動後，李魁賢還進一步請參加詩歌節的國內外詩人分享經驗回饋詩作，再由李魁賢親自編譯出版多語的《福爾摩莎詩選淡水》詩集。如今這已成為「淡水福爾摩莎

Revitalization in Asia: Adaptive Reuse in Macao, Mumbai, and Penang offers a clear understanding of the value of sustainable adaptive reuse within an Asian context. Three highly urbanized places (Macao, Mumbai, and Penang) are considered in detail from conservation and planning perspectives (with essays and timelines for each). For each place, five case studies offer a comparative framework for understanding similarities and differences in adaptive reuse projects. Six essays examine adaptive reuse in terms of its connection to the three dimensions of sustainability, with reference to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This book is envisioned as a continuation of Asian Revitalization: Adaptive Reuse in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore.
