商品簡介

Katz (psychology and pediatrics, U. of Miami), Lederman, a Circuit Court judge, and Osofsky (pediatrics and psychiatry, Louisiana State U. Health Sciences Center, New Orleans) offer a guide for early childhood professionals, case workers, clinicians, and attorneys to child-centered practices and the best services and supports for families in the child welfare system to improve outcomes for abused and neglected children. They recount their experiences and the story of a woman and her two children in the child welfare system to explain how to use concepts from early childhood development, evidence-based parenting programs, and early intervention systems and services; understand infant mental health; and develop an integrated system of care. They also address high-quality early care and education settings, the role of the courts, and preventing vicarious traumatization and compassion fatigue. Sample forms, court reports, and other documents are appended. Annotation c2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
