| Just a short leap from the black smoke of the steam era, the Jiji Branch Line railway has been with Taiwan for more than 80 years. In 1919, during the Japanese colonial period, the Jiji Branch Line was built by the Tiwan Power Company to transport building materials for the Sun Moon Lake Hydroelectric Power Plant and the Mingtan Hydroelectric Power Plant. There are seven stations on the Jiji Branch Line: Ershuei, Yuancyuan, Jhuoshuei, Lungcyuan, Jiji, Shueili, and Checheng. After construction of the power plants was completed, the line began to carry passengers as well as cargo. The Jiji Railway tour is different now from what it was in the past. Every station welcomes visitors with a new appearance. The richly diversified tourist spots along the line are not just good for eating, sightseeing, and activities they are warm and friendly as well.Don’t think that you have already enjoyed all there is to enjoy of these beautiful places.The brand new Jiji Branch Line has it all. |
