Copepods are minute crustaceans of the aquatic environment. They have been dubbed by marine biologists ""Insects of the Sea"".
Up to the persent, 50 species of sea lice have been collected and studied from the marine fishes of Taiwan. While some of them are typically found on warm water fishes like those occurring in India, others are mostly seen on fishes of temperate waters. Thus, we deemed an account on the sea lice of Taiwan would be useful anf helpful for the interested workers of the parasitic copepods not only in Taiwan but also in various parts of Asia and Oceania, if not the world.
