Tom Birch is an Emeritus at Yuba College. He is a member of several organizations, such as, the past president of California Automotive Teachers (CAT), the past board member of North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT), Service Technicians Society (STS), Automotive Service Council ( ASC-CA), Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS), and the International Mobile Air Conditioning Association (IMACA).
