David E. Long, retired diplomat and professor, is currently an international consultant on the Middle East and international terrorism. He is the author of numerous books, including Culture and Customs of Saudi Arabia.
Sebastian Maisel, assistant professor of Arabic and Middle East Studies at Grand Valley State University, is coeditor of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Arab States Today: An Encyclopedia of Life in the Arab States.
