Elements of Culture in Counseling represents an innovative departure from the majority of multicultural counseling texts. Courtland C. Lee is a professor of Counselor Education in the Department of Counseling and Personnel Services at the University of Maryland, College Park. He earned a Ph.D. in counseling from Michigan State University, an M.S. degree in guidance and counseling from Hunter College of the City University of New York, and a B.A. in history and secondary education from Hofstra University. He is the editor of Multicultural Issues in Counseling: New Approaches to Diversity (American Counseling Association, 2006) and is also the author of numerous books and articles concerning the process and outcome of cross-cultural and multicultural counseling.
