Full of warmth and humor, beloved comedian Linda Smith achieved national fame with her various Radio 4 shows, including Just a Minute, The News Quiz,
and Sorry I Haven't a Clue. Her comedy brought laughter into the hearts of millions, and in 2002 she was voted ?wittiest person alive” on Radio 4. From her childhood in Erith?featuring her ?sweet smiling fascist grandmother”?to her early stand-up days and comedy career, Warren Lakin recalls Linda's fascinating story and their life together. Warren was Linda's partner and chauffeur for more than 23 years, driving her to tour, radio, and TV gigs, and later to hospital appointments as her ovarian cancer took hold. This is the moving and often hilarious story of a life lived with wit, humor, and grace under pressure.
