商品簡介
Landon, a minister, searches through the ideas of academic and political experts, theologians and poor people themselves. He finds the poor are badly prepared to seek and hold jobs that could pull them out of poverty, social service agencies do not properly motivate the poor, many of the poor do not receive adequate physical and mental health treatment, and politicians and even some theologians hold that poverty is a just punishment for sin. He proposes faith-based solutions to poverty that churches can effect, such as providing basic counseling services, providing educational and job training opportunities, and helping with affordable day care, as well as providing spiritual support.
