商品簡介
Writing for graduate students of public administration, for elected city officials, and for reporters who cover local government, Coe (public administration, North Carolina State U.) outlines the services that municipal governments are call on to provide, and how they go about doing so. He covers public safety and public health, public works and planning, leisure, and support services. Specific topics include emergency medical services, animal control, water treatment and distribution, street maintenance and construction, parks and recreation, and public buildings and facilities. This is only an introduction, he warns, and will not by itself prepare someone to run a city. Annotation c2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
