In this ethnographic study, Benei (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, France) explores how nationalism is reproduced in daily experiences of state primary schools in India. Theoretically, her aim is to pursue a phenomenological anthropology of the body and emotions in the political. In other words, she explores the symbolic and affective dimensions of political emotions, building on existing work on the anthropology of bodies, emotions, and language.
