More Theatre III: Stage to Screen to Television, Since 2001, Marill lists any productions that have graced the theatrical world as well as screens, both big and small, in the last several years.
Despite the title, not all of these works have traveled the direct route from stage to screen to television. Some productions had their genesis on the small screen, then were staged in live theatre, and ultimately produced for the big screen. Others started out as films and moved in the other direction. While these volumes primarily focus on Broadway and on the London stage, Marill has endeavored to include interesting productionsand in some cases variations, sequels, and prequels of initial works - with familiar names in regional theatre around the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
As with previous volumes, this resource is arranged in alphabetical order by real person whose life has been adapted for the three mediums or by title of the original play, movie, or TV presentation. Plenty of new entries have been added, as many new shows have qualified for inclusion since 2001. Indeed, this book chronicles a number of major Broadway musicals that were not included in previous volumes because they had not yet been produced on television, including Oklahoma! and the works of Dr. Seuss and Charles Schulz.
In all, there are more than 200 entries, nearly forty of which are entirely new. Where new information was added to old entries, the entries have been repeated. Each entry includes a brief historical overview of the various productions, as well as detailed cast and production personnel. Entries also include opening or release date, theater name, and location. New entries include productions of Doctor Zhivago, Gone with the Wind, Julius Caesar, The Lion in Winter, Lolita, Mary Poppins, The Music Man, Ragtime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Some Like It Hot. New biographical subjects include F. Scott Fitzgerald, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Lindbergh, Golda Meir, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt, and Mark Twain.

Alvin H. Marill has been a contributing editor to Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide since 1980 and is also a charter member of the Television Movie Hall of Fame. Among his many books are The Complete Films of Edward G. Robinson, Keeping Score (Scarecrow, 1998) and Movies Made for Television, 1964-2004 (Scarecrow, 2005).
