商品簡介
This study by Molavi (Centre for Iranian Studies, U. of Durham, UK) aims to identify the determinants of privatization policy in Iran, with particular reference to the oil and gas industry. He provides an overview of privatization in general and considers the options for Iran in reference to experiences in nearby countries such as Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and India. He then adopts a political economy approach to analyzing the history of Iranian oil and gas policy from the era of the Shah to the present, prior to focusing on the four primary factors which directly affect privatization policy: the legal and institutional framework, the nature of oil and gas relative to privatization, the Iranian domestic environment and the social psychology of the Iranian government, and the international environment.
