This two-volume encyclopedia of television film directors offers general readers with an alphabetized list of entries that include filmographies, biographical information and critical reviews of many of the films. Roberts is an acquisitions editor and contributor to such trade publications as Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter and DGA, and he provides nearly 2,000 entries on directors of made-for-TV films, pilots, miniseries, feature-length anthology programs and musical specials with lengths that exceed 60 minutes. The author also cross-references many of the entries so that readers can follow up on awards, related films and other productions from each director.
