商品簡介
Published in an oversized format (8.25x11.75"), and well illustrated with b&w and color plates of finds, drawings, and maps of the site, this volume presents a detailed analysis of excavations carried out between 2004-2005 by Oxford Archaeology on nine sites along the route of the new bypass around the town of Great Barford in Bedfordshire. The sites contain evidence from the later Bronze Age and were settled in the later Iron Age and during the Roman period. The volume presents chapters on the sites and finds during these eras and afterwards, in the Saxon and medieval period, with separate chapters on the human remains, animal and fish bone, environmental evidence, and scientific dating, particular of a Romano-British kiln. Note that the bypass designation of A421 appears prominently on the spine. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Annotation c2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
