The seventh edition of this handbook on energy management includes eight new chapters on waste heat recovery, HVAC systems, electricity, energy management and control systems, energy systems maintenance, alternative energy, indoor air quality, and utility rates. The handbook coves all aspects of energy management, including economic analysis, energy auditing, boilers and fired systems, steam and condensate systems, cogeneration, waste-heat recovery, and lighting. Other areas covered include electric and gas utility rates for commercial and industrial consumers, legislation, natural gas purchasing, sustainability, and performance contracting. Many chapters include some combination of summaries, application examples, glossaries, and suggestions for further study. Appendices offer a 20-page review of thermal science, a 50-page review of electrical science, and conversion factors and property tables. B&w illustrations, tables, and graphs are also included. Doty is an energy engineer for Colorado Springs Utilities. Turner is professor emeritus in the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University.
