History of Technology: European Technologies in Spanish History

This is a special issue of the History of Technology series focusing on issues of cross-national technology transfer, specifically with regards to the case of Spain. Sixteen essays are presented under the themes of: manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications and public works. Examples of specific topics include the beginnings of industrial espionage in Spain (1748-1760); patents, sugar technology, and sub-imperial institutions in 19th century Cuba; technology transfer and industrial location in the case of the cotton spinning industry in Catalonia; and the transfer of nuclear technology to Spain during the Franco era.
