In this product of the APA's Psychology Education Research Training (PERT) program for young scholars, Dinella (Gender Development Laboratory, Monmouth U.) introduces nine contributions that walk newer researchers through the process of conducting school-based research. In collaboration with education professionals, the PERT researchers (including the editor) investigated areas including working with school stakeholders, monitoring the implementation of school-based programs, integrating community perspectives into prevention science, and bridging theory to practice by disseminating findings to diverse audiences. Forewords describe the PERT program, and the policy contexts of the No Child Left Behind Act and Education Science Reform Act. Annotation c2009 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
