Updated for Silverlight 4, the 2d ed. of this comprehensive handbook uses the same organization of the 1st, presenting each recipe in identical format: title, problem, solution, how it works, and the code. Silverlight development is described in the first chapter, with guidelines for set up and the basic concepts, including a section for running Silverlight on Linux. Application design, programming model, and developing user experiences are described in detail in the next two chapters. The remainder of the book contains the recipes, divided into application type, such as data binding, controls, browser integration, and networking and web services, then moving into WCF Ria Services, integrating rich media, and integrating smooth streaming for rich adaptive streaming support.
