商品簡介
Based on the four-volume Magill's Encyclopedia of Social Science: Psychology (2003), this revised edition of Psychology Basics supersedes the previous edition (1998) (which drew from a 1993 Magill reference). Presented in two volumes, one-third of the 127 essays are new, on new topics; the others are substantially updated. The essays range from four to eight pages in length and are arranged alphabetically. Topics include theory and concepts in various aspects of development, cognition, language, learning, personality, psychobiology, and psychopathology, among other themes. The standardized format supplements the narrative with an abstract, identification of type of psychology, fields of study, key concepts, and sources for further study. Articles are cross referenced, but there is no index. Editor Piotrowski is affiliated with the U. of California, Berkeley. Annotation c2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
