Refugee Rights ─ Ethics, Advocacy, and Africa

The collection of essays looks at the refugee crisis in Africa over the last three decades from a variety of perspectives, including theological, ethical, legal political, economic and cultural. Editor Hollenbach (Boston College) has gathered these articles in the spirit of advocacy for displaced people, and these pieces come from viewpoints "from the ground," as opposed to distant academic theories of what it is supposed to be like to be a refugee. These articles concentrate on such issues as the freedom for refugees to move from camp to camp, and the long-term effects of living in these conditions. Written primarily for human rights advocates, this book will also connect with general audiences. Annotation c2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
