商品簡介
The general public needs to be better informed about scientific advances. So stresses Laidler (d. 2003), who taught chemistry at the University of Ottawa. Proceeding from the subatomic to cosmic level, he offers a generally accessible introduction to key advances and personalities in the major branches of physical science. A chapter each is devoted to biology and scientific methods. A glossary is included. Although the minimal math and measures used are lucidly explained, some points may still elude non-scientists.
