商品簡介
This is a reprint of the 1971 publication constituting the second volume of Braisted's (former professor, history, U. of Texas at Austin) research on the relationship between the naval and diplomatic policies of the United States in the Pacific. The book focuses on efforts to secure America's East Asian possessions against potential Japanese attack, a contract that committed the U.S. Navy to train Chinese naval personnel, and the Washington Arms Conference of 1921-1922. Seven sections are presented on topics such as the Taft years, the pre-1917 Wilson era, the Navy in the Pacific during World War I, the Siberian intervention, the Navy at the Paris Peace Conference, from Paris to Washington, and the Washington Conference. Each section contains multiple chapters on its topic. Annotation c2008 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
