AMRA ANDREWS is a college reference librarian and a freelance writer. She has written two encyclopedias of mythology: Legends of the Earth, Sea, and Sky: An Encyclopedia of Nature Myths (1998), and Nectar and Ambrosia: An Encyclopedia of Food in World Mythology (2000). She developed a love of mythology and sky legends while working as a librarian for the McDonald Observatory at the University of Texas, Austin, and her research into astronomical legends led her to publish many radio scripts and articles for Star Date, a radio show and magazine produced by the McDonald Observatory. Andrews continues to contribute scripts to Star Date and articles and abstracts for several reference book publishers. Wonder of the Sky is the first in a series of four guides that teach lessons on natural phenomena through the reading of myth and legends.
