Jeffrey Badger grew up in Dublin, California, Ogden, Utah, and Uvalde, Texas. He has a B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. from Penn State University and a Ph.D. from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, all in mechanical engineering. He has lived in Finland, Ireland, England, Sweden, and Guatemala and is currently residing in Austin, Texas. Badger is an expert in the manufacturing process of grinding, and is well known in this industry. He is known as “The Grinding Doc” from his questionswer column in the leading American trade magazine in cutting tools. Badger writes extensively for his job. His articles on grinding have appeared in the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Brazil, Spain, Korea, Japan, and India. In addition to Finding Granddad’s War, he has also published a children’s story, as winner of Half Price Books Say Goodnight to Illiteracy children’s story contest.
