This is the third volume in the multi-volume coverage of excavations occurring over a period of more than ten years (1965-1978) at Mucking, in the county of Essex--one of the major archaeological projects of the post-war period. In two parts (bound individually), this work documents the Anglo-Saxon cemeteries and the excavations by Tom and Margaret Jones. Coverage comprises an introduction, catalogues, and specialist reports followed by analysis and discussion of the context of Mucking, the plan and the burial population, the inhumations, the creation burials, and chronological, cultural and social analysis.
