Alexis Sidney Krausse, 1859–1904, was a prolific writer and journalist and author of numerous books dealing with both social and political issues of his day, including The Far East: its History and its Question (1900), The Story of the Chinese Crisis (1900), and Starving London: The Story of Three Weeks’ Sojourn Among the Destitute (1886).
